TERMS & CONDITIONS
This agreement is made between Bonnie Wee Campers and the Hirer who is deemed to be the lead booker who signs the Rental Agreement.
In the event of any discrepancy between these Terms and Conditions and any other Bonnie Wee Campers literature, the provisions of these Terms and Conditions apply. ‘Bonnie Wee Campers’ located at 7b Spirex Buildings, Inveralmond Road, PERTH, PH1 3TW. The Driver / Hirer / Customer means the person(s) nominated as the driver(s) under this Rental Agreement. ‘Camper-van’ means the vehicle under hire as described under the heading ‘Vehicle Details’ under the ‘Rental Agreement’ and includes tyres, tools, accessories, living equipment and any other special equipment, documents relating to the vehicle and any replacement or substitute vehicle provided by Bonnie Wee Campers. ‘Rental Agreement’ means the document read and signed by the Hirer on collection of the vehicle. It includes details of ‘Customer’, ‘Vehicle Details’, ‘Rental Period’ and and ‘Departure Checklist’.
Reservations
All prices quoted and charged in £ (GBP)
Vehicles will not be released without full payment received and ID being received prior to collection.
Credit & Debit cards must be in the name of the hirer. Full payment is required at the time of booking and the deposit is required no later than 2 days before hire is due to commence.
Hire Period
The ‘Hire Period’ refers to the dates agreed in the Rental Agreement
Rental is charged on a per day/week basis
Bonnie Wee Campers is open Monday to Sunday and specific collection times will be agreed prior to collection. Collection is from 2pm until 5pm. Return by 11am, Any returns after 11am are charged £25 per hour. Any late returns must be advised to Bonnie Wee Campers at the earliest opportunity. Earlier collections may be possible if the hired Camper-van isn’t out for rental and is ready for collection – please enquire a week before the hire date.

Unlimited Mileage
Fully Comprehensive Insurance 2 named drivers aged 25– 70 and have held a full UK driving license for the minimum of 2 year. An extra deposit amount incurred if the driver to be insured has a traffic conviction.
Full Breakdown & Roadside Assistance within the UK. Bonnie Wee Campers hire will supply full breakdown cover within the UK to cover any mechanical faults, Any call out charges necessitated by the customer through operator error, e. g. a flat vehicle battery etc will be the responsibility of the hirer. Any call out charges incurred by using an alternative breakdown company are the responsibility of the customer.
Driver Identification
All drivers must provide the following, which should be provided by the Hirer 48 hours before the hire start date:
A scanned copy of each driver’s photo card driving licence.
Each driver’s DVLA licence check code so we can view your licence details before you arrive. Click here (https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence) for instructions on how to do this. We are unable to insure you if we are not able to login and check your driving licence details. – If you have a Northern Ireland driving licence, we require both the photo-card and the paper counterpart.
You must declare, at the time of booking, if there are any endorsements on your driving licence. We can only hire to you if you and any driver: (i)are not under the age of 25 or over 70 years of age (ii)has held a full UK licence for a minimum of 2 years (iii)has not had their licence suspended for any period within the last 3 years (iv)has not been involved in more than 1 fault incident within the last 3 years (v)has no more than two convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction (vi)has not obtained a BA, DD or UT conviction. Charges may apply for penalty points.
We can hire to drivers who have more than 6 penalty points but additional charges may be applied. Failure to declare an accident or driving conviction invalidates insurance.
All drivers must be present for collection of the camper van – no exceptions can be made.
Each driver must provide 2 separate original forms of identification including valid photographic identification( your license) on collection of vehicle otherwise hire will be invalidated. In addition they should provide utility bills, credit card or bank account statement, council tax bill, self assessment tax bill which are less than 2 months old and address that matches your license.
When you collect the van, please bring your photo-card driving licences with you and original copies of the other forms of ID. Bonnie Wee Campers can not be held responsible for any lost hire time as a result of you forgetting to bring the correct documentation.
Should any driver fail to present all of the correct documentation and identification 48 hrs before collection of the vehicle, or the documentation does not meet the driver requirements set out in the terms and conditions, then Bonnie Wee Campers will be unable to release the vehicle. No refunds will be given.
Please allow 1 Hour to complete the documentation process and demonstration of the vehicle.
Payment
Availability is on a request and confirmation basis at the time of your reservation. A reservation is only binding once the booking is confirmed by Bonnie Wee Campers by email, and a fully refundable deposit is received. Settlement of the remaining balance will be due 14 days prior to departure. Payment is taken in a credit / debit card or bank transfer based transaction. Vehicles will not be released without full payment being completed.
Insurance
Fully comprehensive insurance is provided by Bonnie Wee Campers through our insurers to the driver(s) named on the rental agreement. The vehicle is insured for damage to the vehicle and the property of a third party but does not include any personal insurance for the customer including death or bodily injury to the driver nor does it cover any personal possessions. The hire rate quoted includes a standard excess outlined in the Rental Agreement. Only persons named on the Rental Agreement are insured to drive the vehicle.
Exclusions
The theft of a Bonnie Wee Campers vehicle will not be covered by insurance if the ignition keys are left in, on the vehicle, or in an unsecured place whilst the vehicle is unoccupied. The hirer shall be held fully responsible for a replacement vehicle.
Damage resulting from using the cooking equipment is not covered by the insurance. Damage falling under this category will require separate payment.
Please note that no insurance is offered for damage to the roof / overhead cab or the underside of any vehicle and any damage will be deemed as gross negligence.
Therefore, the hirer accepts full liability for these which is in addition to the standard excess of the vehicle should that apply.
Mirrors and / or tyre damage is not covered by the standard vehicle insurance.
Theft of the camper-van or any of its equipment must be reported to the Police and Bonnie Wee Campers immediately.
Personal accident, personal effects and medical expenses.
Personal Travel Insurance, It is the hirer’s responsibility to provide their own insurance to cover personal items and belongings and personal injury in the event of an accident. This is strongly recommended.
Please note that the campervan is not insured outside the contract of hire.
Insurance Excess
The hirer is responsible for a standard excess of £1000 in the event of any damage to the vehicle or third party property, fire or theft, the hirer will be liable for the excess. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windscreen, tyre or alloy wheel damage
Security Deposit
Please note that a pre-authorised £1000 security deposit will be required on arrival to collect the campervan for your hire commencing and will be held until we check the condition of the campervan on return. Please be aware that the driver at the time of hire is responsible if any speeding fines or parking fines are incurred as a result of your hire and this is to be paid within 7 working days of receiving the fine. If this is not settled within this timeframe then the hirer will incur an extra £55 charge as well as any additional charges from the authorities due to delayed payments
The Security Deposit must be on the main hirers credit card / debit card or bank transferred.
The security deposit will be used to cover the insurance excess in the event of any incident/accident/damage.
In the event of an accident the hire period will cease, a replacement camper will not be provided. Nor will we issue a refund for remaining hire as the vehicle will be off the road whilst being repaired.
In the event of an insurance claim / incident regardless of fault the security deposit will be retained until the insurers have settled the claim. Note this can be a lengthy process and is completely out of Bonnie Wee Campers control.
Security Deposits are authorised/debited in British pounds GBP. Bonnie Wee Campers are not responsible for any fluctuations in exchange rates or bank charges imposed by your card provider or bank which my effect the total amount deducted.
Any contamination of the water tanks is not covered under any insurance or security deposit.
This security deposit will be used to fund any loss or damage to equipment, fixtures, fittings, windows, cleaning fees, tyres or negligent damage to the vehicle.
Any extra charges will be notified to the hirer by e-mail or phone call within 28 days of the vehicles return. In the unlikely event that Penalty charge notices, speeding fines, other road traffic offences or congestion or toll charges should take longer than 28 days to Bonnie Wee Campers, the hirer agrees to pay the charges & any administration fees applied to these charges.
The security deposit will be used to fund any cleaning fees, the damage administration fee, road traffic violation administration fees.
The hirer agrees to pay Bonnie Wee Campers for any additional costs over and above the security deposit value should damages exceed the security deposit value within 28 days of your hire. The hirer irrevocably authorises Bonnie Wee Campers to deduct from the security deposit or credit/debit card provided any amounts due to Bonnie Wee Campers arising out of this agreement.
A £50 administration fee will be applied against any loss or damage to the campervan or any item contained within.
A £55 administration fee will be applied against any road traffic offences, penalty charge notices or speeding fines.
The security deposit covers cost for replacement or repair of aerials, glass, wheels, roof, underside of vehicle, wing mirror, wheel, alloys, tyre damage or incorrect refuelling (e.g. putting petrol into diesel tank) for which the hirer is responsible, if repair/replacement exceeds security deposit amount the hirer is responsible for excess charges of these.
Hireable extras
Other hire-able extras available for the duration of hirers’ stay in a Bonnie Wee Campers vehicle include the following.
Drive away awning
All extras are payable before commencement of hire.
Fuel and gas
A gas canister will be supplied with the vehicle at commencement of hire. This will be enough gas for average use during your hire period. Any additional gas purchased throughout the hire is at the hirers cost. Bonnie Wee Campers will not refund for unused gas upon return.
On collection, we will agree and document the vehicle fuel level with you. You need to return the van refilled to that same level at the end of the hire. The cost of the missing fuel will be deducted, along with a £50 service charge, from your security deposit if the van is returned with missing fuel.
Collection and Return
Collections are at 2pm. All drivers must be present on collection and must present their full valid UK driving licence, address verification (With Matching address). Photocopies will not be accepted.
Returns are at 11am. There are no refunds for early returns. Charges apply for late returns. Vehicles must be returned undamaged, with the level of fuel as agreed when the vehicle was received, with a clean interior and in the same condition as it left. Charges will apply if the vehicle is returned with additional damage or unclean.
Late Return – Bonnie Wee Campers must be notified immediately by speaking to Bonnie Wee Campers to prevent any prosecution for driver(s) driving whilst uninsured. Late returns will be charged at £25 per hour regardless of circumstances, Unless arranged otherwise.
Please allow up to 1 hour to complete the documentation process and handover on collection and the same for the return inspection.
You are welcome to leave one car with us whilst you are out enjoying yourself. This is at your own risk, we cannot accept any responsibility for the vehicle while it is parked with us.
Cancellation by Bonnie Wee Campers
Bonnie Wee Campers makes every effort to have your vehicle ready for collection at the time requested. However, during busy periods there may be delays which are out of Bonnie Wee Campers control. Should this be the case no refunds will be issued and no extensions will be made as Bonnie Wee Campers will be required to be returned at the time and dates as recorded and in accordance with the details on the rental contract. Bonnie Wee Campers reserve the right to cancel a reservation before or at the proposed commencement of hire as follows:
If the named Driving Licence is not produced or valid in accordance with stated conditions;
The address on driving licence does not match billing address. Additional proof of ID is required;
The Hirer does not provide a valid passport or driving licence as proof of ID;
Due to operational issues affecting rental fleet;
The Hirer is in breach of any term in this agreement;
The Hirer obtained the vehicle through fraud or misrepresentation;
If any statement, representation or warranty made by the hirer in respect to himself or additional drivers is incorrect;
The vehicle appears to be abandoned;
The vehicle is not returned at the agreed date or Bonnie Wee Campers reasonably believes the vehicle will not be returned on the agreed return date;
Bonnie Wee Campers considers, on reasonable grounds, that the safety of passengers or the vehicle is in danger. The hirer understands that in the event of such termination or repossession that the hirer has no right to a refund or any part of the rental charges or the security deposit;
Bonnie Wee Campers liability is limited to the refunds of all monies paid by the hirer. No compensation is available for additional arrangements booked by hirer (e.g. flights, concert tickets);
Bonnie Wee Campers reserve the right to amend our cancellation policy for certain events;
Bonnie Wee Campers reserve the right to refuse to hire to any person, without stating cause. Cancellations out of our control;
In the unfortunate event that the camper-van is damaged and not driveable or stolen before your hire commencement, and we cannot provide a replacement vehicle, a full refund of all monies paid will be given. We cannot accept responsibility for missed commitments/arrangements such as campsite bookings due to breakdown or theft and we cannot be held responsible for adverse weather conditions affecting any hire. Cancellation by Hirer.
In the event of a cancellation by the hirer the following charges shall be incurred:
7 days to day of hire 100% of hire and 50% of deposit will be lost;
10 days prior to the hire 100% of the hire will be lost;
14 days prior to the hire 50% of the hire will be lost.
Customers are advised to check their own travel insurance policy in the event of a cancellation by the hirer.
Vehicle Handover
Bonnie Wee Campers makes every effort to have your vehicle ready for collection at the time arranged. However, during busy periods there may be delays which are out of Bonnie Wee Campers control. Should this be the case no refunds will be issued or no extensions will be made as the Bonnie Wee Campers will be required to be returned at the time and dates as recorded and in accordance with the details on the rental contract Bonnie Wee Campers will carry out a full pre-rental inspection of every vehicle before the commencement of hire. The inspection involves testing every system on board the camper-van to ensure they are operating correctly. At collection, the hirer will be demonstrated the vehicle and shown how each system works. Should an onboard system fail during the hire, Bonnie Wee Campers will make every effort to remedy the fault whilst you are out on rental but in some circumstances, this may not be possible. Bonnie Wee Campers cannot be held responsible and will not refund any monies should a loss of service be encountered nor have any obligation to provide a replacement vehicle. In the case of winter hire, Bonnie Wee Campers cannot be held responsible in the event of any damage or inconveniences caused by freezing conditions. This is the responsibility of the hirer.
Use of the vehicle
During the rental period, the hirer agrees that the vehicle will not be:
Driven by persons under the age of 21 years or who is not authorised by law to drive the Vehicle or named in the agreement;
Driven other than in a cautious, prudent and normal manner or used in a manner which could cause damage.
Driven in a prohibited area.
Driven by a person under the influence of alcohol or drugs or with a blood alcohol level in excess of that permitted by law.
Driven by a person who is unauthorised to drive the vehicle as set out under the heading ‘Driver details’ of the Rental Agreement.
Used to carry more persons in accordance with the provision of seatbelts in the vehicle. The maximum number of passengers is 4 as per manufacturers terms.
Left with the ignition key in or on the vehicle while it is unoccupied (invalidates insurance).
Damaged by submersion in water, for example by driving in flood water or in contact with salt water.
Used for any illegal purpose for any race, rally or contest.
Used to tow any vehicle or trailer.
Used to carry passengers or property for hire or reward.
Used for hiring, racing, competitions, rallies or trials or any purpose in connection with the motor trade.
Used to carry volatile liquids, gases (except the provided LPG),, explosives or other corrosive or inflammable material.
Driven on any road surfaces other than sealed/bitumen roads. Some roads & passes have height, weight & width restrictions, it is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure the vehicle is permitted on the routes chosen. Failure to check these details could invalidate any insurance.
I understand that Bonnie Wee Campers reserves the right at any time, at its sole discretion, to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions or any other reasonable cause.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in any Bonnie Wee Campers vehicles. Bonnie Wee Campers reserves the right to impose additional cleaning charges should smoke be detected in the vehicle.
Pets
Bonnie Wee Campers camper-vans are pet friendly, but any pets must be mentioned prior to the hire and mentioned in the rental agreement.
The hirer takes full responsibility of pets in the camper and of any damages that may occur as a result, should any damages arising then the cost of repairs will be deducted from the deposit.
Breakdown
The hirer will be liable for any costs associated with the incorrect use of fuel. All Bonnie Wee Campers vehicles run on diesel.
24-hour Roadside Assistance is provided under the hire contract for all UK hires. If the Hirer arranges for the camper-van to be recovered by any other recovery company other than the one outlined by Bonnie Wee Campers the cost must be met by the hirer.
In the case of you being without the camper-van you will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
We cannot accept responsibility for missed functions, unused campsite days, etc, due to breakdown and we cannot be held responsible for adverse weather conditions affecting any hire.
Responsibility of the hirer during an incident
In the event of any accident, loss or damage arising out of the use of a Bonnie Wee Campers vehicle including damage to a third-party vehicle, the hirer must:
Notify Bonnie Wee Campers within 12 hours of the event;
Obtain the names and address of third parties and any witnesses and report the event to the nearest police station;
Complete the incident reporting form supplied by Bonnie Wee Campers;
Assist Bonnie Wee Campers in handling any claim arising from the event;
Acknowledge that the excess or other amount due in respect of any damage arising from an accident, loss or damage is payable at the completion of the rental period, regardless of which party is at fault;
Accept that no security deposit/excess will be refunded until the claim is settled;
Fines / Tolls / Congestion charges;
Driver(s) are personally liable for all legal penalties and fees pertaining to any traffic violation infringements under the current Road Traffic Legislation applicable in the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Driver(s) are personally liable for any parking fines, private parking fines, tolls & congestion charges they incur during the hire period & allow Bonnie Wee Campers to deduct any charges owed due to these from the security deposit. Bonnie Wee Campers will contact the hirer after the rental agreement finishes if any traffic violation infringements are presented to Bonnie Wee Campers for your hire period. The driver(s) will be liable for any penalties and fees pertaining to any traffic violation that has been incurred during their hire period. Bonnie Wee Campers will notify the driver(s) of any speeding or parking fines and an administration charge of £55 for each infringement incurred throughout the hire period.
Conditions of hire
The company’s rental agreement is the sole contract for hiring the vehicle between Bonnie Wee Campers and the hirer(s), driver(s) and/or passenger(s).
The company takes no responsibility for any delay, loss, damage or injury that a hirer might experience no matter how it is caused or by whom.
No refunds are payable on accommodation or Bonnie Wee Campers if they are not available where a hirer or passenger changes or cancels or seeks to vary agreements after collection.
These conditions cannot be varied or altered or waived by any employee or representative of Bonnie Wee Campers or by anyone providing services or facilities.
The company cannot be bound by any representative or statement unless it is confirmed in writing by Bonnie Wee Campers.
Title to Vehicle – The Hirer acknowledges that Bonnie Wee Campers retains title to the Vehicle and that the Hirer possess the goods as a mere bailee only and do not have any right to pledge Bonnie Wee Campers credit in connection with the Vehicle and agree not to do so and shall not agree, attempt, offer or purport to sell, assign, sublet, lend, pledge, mortgage, let on hire, or otherwise part with or attempt to part with the personal possession of or otherwise deal with the Vehicle.
Theft
In the event that the campervan in stolen, the HIRER acknowledges they are liable to pay 20% of the vehicle value.
Complaints
Bonnie Wee Campers are contactable on 07534011010 or by email on info@bonnieweecampers.co.uk throughout the rental period. All faults, damage or complaints must be reported immediately on this number or at the latest on return of the vehicle. If a complaint is not satisfactorily resolved upon return, the hirer must inform Bonnie Wee Campers in writing within 14 days.
This agreement shall be governed by Scottish Law. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement of the parties and there are no other oral undertakings, warranties or agreements between the parties relating to the subject matter of this agreement.
I hereby agree to the above terms and conditions in relation to the rental of Bonnie Wee campers should any issues/incidents/accidents occur.
